1. Information We Collect
When you create a Nivasity account, we collect your full name, university email address, university affiliation, and course of study. When you use Niva-Pay, we process transaction data including amounts, timestamps, and counterparty identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: verify your student identity, facilitate marketplace transactions, power the Niva-Safe trust system, match Niva-Wish requests with listings, send order and security notifications, and improve our platform.
3. Information Sharing
We display your username and Niva-Safe status to other users on listings and profiles. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. Niva-Pay wallet data is encrypted and stored separately from user profile data.
5. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent for data processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@nivasity.ng.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use local storage to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Essential cookies are used for authentication and security purposes only.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for 7 years for regulatory compliance. You may request account deletion at any time, after which personal data will be removed within 30 days.
